My Online Counseling Approach

Counseling’s purpose is to help YOU!  Through my 17 years in the field, I have integrated many therapy techniques into my counseling practice here at Wellspring Women’s Counseling.  These include cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, narrative therapy, and solution-focused therapy.  You, like every person, is unique and has different concern areas.  Therefore, I work to meet you where you are, and together determine goals and how to achieve them.

As Featured On:

Pain is real, but so is hope.

Your future depends on what you do in the present.

Because it's time to put your mental health first.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Telemental health?

Telemental health is also referred to as online counseling.  This allows us to meet through an audio and video platform over the internet, providing an authentic face-to-face connection for counseling sessions.

Why should I choose online counseling?

Convenience and less costs to you! You won’t have to worry about transportation, excessive time away from work or home to travel to appointments, or additional child-care.  This all cuts down on extra costs, making it less burden-some to attend counseling sessions where it is convenient to you.  This is key especially for rural parts of Minnesota where access to counselors can be minimal.

Do you accept insurance?

Wellspring Women’s Counseling accepts these insurance plans:

  • Aetna
  • America’s PPO
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • First Health
  • Health Partners
  • Lyra
  • Magellan
  • Modern Health
  • Multi-Plan
  • PreferredOne

Please contact your insurance company regarding your coverage for outpatient therapy and any applicable deductible, co-pay, or co-insurance which is due at the time of service.

If you have insurance through another plan, you can access your Out of Network benefits through your insurance plan.  I provide you with a form (called a Superbill), which you can submit to your insurance company to receive reimbursement for our sessions.  Many clients are able to get partial reimbursement (often 50-80% coverage) for the cost of sessions this way. To find out if you have Out of Network benefits available through your insurance, call the phone number on the back of your insurance card and request your Out of Network coverage for individual outpatient therapy appointments.

What if I have to cancel an appointment?

I understand that things come up, so you can cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 24 hours’ notice. If it is less than 24 hours prior to our appointment, you will be charged for the appointment.

What forms of payment are accepted?

I ask that you put a credit card on file for easy, convenient payment. I provide receipts for each visit.

How does Telemental health work?

You will receive a link for our video session that you can click on when our session is scheduled to start. You can use the camera and audio on your computer or mobile device.

Is online counseling as effective as traditional in-office counseling?

Research shows that online counseling provides the same benefit and client outcomes as traditional face-to-face office visits.

How will my privacy be ensured during online counseling?

Only HIPAA compliant and secure video platforms are used for counseling at Wellspring Women’s Counseling.  This ensures that no one is able to access our sessions. Your privacy is of utmost importance and this format is safe and secure.

Can I be seen by Wellspring Women’s Counseling if I live outside of Minnesota?

Therapists may only provide counseling services to clients in the state they are licensed in.  Therefore, I am only able to accept clients who live in Minnesota. If you live outside of Minnesota, please visit https://www.samhsa.gov/ to find a therapist in your home area.
